Easy Dr Pepper pulled pork is made right in the slow cooker. Best of all, you can assemble it up to 4 months ahead of time and freeze it until you're ready to make it! The pork comes out tender, juicy, and full of flavor, ready to stack on your favorite sandwich buns with a big scoop of creamy cole slaw on top.
Add all of the ingredients except for the Dr Pepper to a labeled freezer bag.
Freeze flat.
To Cook
Thaw the bag overnight in the refrigerator.
Next day dump the contents of the bag into the slow cooker.
Add the Dr Pepper.
Set the cooker on low and cook for 8 hours, or until very tender.
Shred with 2 forks and serve as desired.
Notes
If you are not a fan of Dr Pepper then ginger ale, cola, or root beer are all good substitutes in this recipe. Each gives the meat a slightly different flavor so you’ll want to experiment to see which you like best.
