💭 Tips
Expert Tip: Use a name brand candy melt. I tried to use an off brand and it was terrible - you can see what happened. Just click on the video above.
- Stir the candy melts often while melting.
- Pour the chocolate as evenly as possible over the popcorn.
- Add the m&ms and other mix-ins after the chocolate has hardened - it looks prettier.
- Be sure to take the time to pick out the unpopped kernels! It can save you a trip to the dentist.
- You can make this in a big bowl - I just prefer using a baking sheet so the chocolate goes on more evenly.
- Sending these to school for a class party? Add a cup or so of the mixture to small brown paper bags and tie with a pretty ribbon. Let the kids add stickers for decoration.
- Pick up Valentine popcorn tins at your local craft store. They come in large or small sizes and are perfect for storing this!

You can. I don't recommend it if you'll be using this Valentine's Day popcorn as a classroom treat, however.
I don't recommend it - usually that is too salty. Use microwave or air popped, or even top of the stove popcorn.
