These ham sliders are one of my favorite fall recipes - they pack a big punch of autumn flavor.
I've included links to recipes on my blog for the various components. You can make these even easier by using convenience products available at your grocery store.
One of the best things about these little party sandwiches is that they can be made a day ahead of time, covered in a damp paper towel then wrapped in plastic wrap. They'll be fresh and ready to eat whenever you are ready.
📖 Variations
- Smoked turkey breast would be a delicious alternative to the ham in this recipe.
- Have leftover ham from Sunday dinner? Use thick slices of country ham instead of the thin, deli-sliced meat.
- Use Hawaiian dinner rolls instead of biscuits for more of a ham slider.
- Melt a slice of cheese over the top of the ham. Cheddar, Jarlsberg, and Swiss cheese are all good choices.
- Any biscuit recipe is fine. Use your favorite or a tube of refrigerated biscuit dough.
- Apple butter is available almost everywhere and it works really well in place of the spiced apple rings in this recipe.
- Peach preserves and candied jalapenos are a great alternative for the apples in this recipe!
🥫 How to store leftovers
It's best to store leftover ham biscuits in an airtight container for up to 2 days. After that the biscuit gets a little soggy.
You can also freeze these for up to 3 months but I'd take the apple slice off first. The texture can get mushy.
💭 Things to know
Expert Tip: Put leftovers away promptly. If these ham biscuit appetizers are sitting out for more than 2 hours be sure to throw them away.
- To make ham biscuits ahead of time : Make as directed in the recipe. Cover with damp paper towel and then cover with plastic wrap. Store in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours.
- Make a lot of ham biscuits easily by slicing the fluffy biscuits in half, putting the biscuit bottoms on a cookie sheet, and covering with a spiced apple ring, ham slices, and a slice of cheese (if you're using). Heat until the cheese is melted then spread the chipotle aioli over the cut side of the biscuit top and press gently.
- Use a toothpick to keep the ham biscuits together. For safety's sake, be sure to put an olive, or pickle, or something on the top of the toothpick.
- I usually only bake and put out a few at a time so that they are always fresh.

One of my favorite fall recipes -- these are SO good! Don't wait for a weekend to try them!
Salty ham folded onto a fluffy biscuit then topped with sweet spiced apple slices?
That's a yes from me.
What takes it over the top is a quick chipotle aioli that gives the sandwich a little extra heat.
Great for game day, Super Bowl, or quick weekend lunches!
